Prologue
THE 32nd INTERNATIONAL TOURISM FAIR IN BELGRADE
Investigating All Formulas
In last year’s first special edition of National Review about tourism (”Tourism 2009”), we started from the beginnings and short history of tourism, a sketch of its phenomenology, the chronology of the most important events, and reached far. Now we continue where we left off.
Almost the whole edition, like last year, will be distributed at the International Tourism Fair (ITF) in Belgrade, from February 24 to 28. This large and reputable gathering is one of the crucial events in the annual tourism cycle in this part of Europe. This year, of crisis or post-crisis, we still cannot reliably say, the Fair will host 850 participants from more than 40 countries. Some tourism superpowers will for the first time present their complete tourism offer here (such as Spain), others are announcing especially attractive exhibitions (such as Brazil), and some consider their participation at the Belgrade Fair an important element of their tourism strategy (such as Slovenia).
From the Serbian point of view, two central subjects of the Fair are especially important: presenting the Serbian rural tourism offer to local and foreign guests, and the Danube tourism. The new event within the Fair, ”Beo Wine Fair 2010”, will be the opportunity to worthily present supreme Serbian wines to foreign connoisseurs.
The pages of ”Tourism 2010”, besides well known top destinations, indicate some less familiar destinations with big potentials and space for creative and enterprising people. It was a true inspiration for us to see how great artists (Emir Kusturica, film director and Ostoja Balkanski, sculptor) concretely contribute to deepening the meaning of the cultural and tourism offer and its enrichment.
All relevant tourism workers from Europe as well as other continents will be in Belgrade in late February, at the 32nd Tourism Fair.
Both at the fair ground and in this edition.
See you there, see you here.
